Jan 8th – Livestock on a Small Farm, Clingman Park:  Join us to discuss the ins and outs of owning livestock on a small farm. This introductory discussion will cover the care, financial, legal, and environmental basics of owning your own livestock. We will cater this session to focus on the type of livestock participants are most interested in learning about.

Feb 12th – Growing Backyard Vegetables, Clingman Park: Learn best practices for successful vegetable gardening including planning a garden, testing soil chemistry and tips on how to grow the best produce.

Mar 12th – Dealing With Heavy Rains, Clingman Park: Geared for landowners who know the struggles of dealing with water after rain. We will discuss what you can do if you have a wet yard, eroding streambanks, or want to improve drainage on your property. This workshop will showcase many water management practices to make your property more useable.

Apr 9th – SW Ohio Native Plantings, Clingman Park: Curious about how to plant a native landscape in your backyard? Join us to learn all about native plantings in SW Ohio from our experienced naturalists. We will cover how to select your plants, when and where to plant, and maintenance through the seasons. 

May 14th – Healthy Soil, Healthy Land, Clingman Park: Digging deep to understand what makes plants grow on the landscape. Growing is so much more than compost and fertilizers.  Find what soil parameters you should be using and the resources to help you make good management decisions for successful lawns and gardens.

Jun 11th – Pest Problems, Clingman Park: Join us for a hands-on introduction to invasive pests and how to deal with them. USDA and OSU Extension Office will provide a comprehensive guide to the pests you may encounter and how to best protect your land!

Jul 9th – Gardening for Wildlife, 4H Hall, Clermont Fairgrounds: Inviting wildlife into your garden can be an exciting time. Join the Clermont Master Gardener Volunteers at the 4H Hall as they discuss best practices for pollinators.

Aug 13th – Caring for your Trees, Clingman Park: Curious about how to better manage your trees? Join ISA Certified Arborist Billy Aszman from Northern Winds Tree Care, LLC to learn the tips and tricks to keep your trees healthy and safe!

Sep 10th – Composting, Clingman Park: Interested in composting but not sure where to start? Join us at Clingman Park to learn all about the basics of composting, different methods, benefits, how to get started, and how to troubleshoot common composting challenges! Earth Machine composters and kitchen pails will be available for purchase.

Oct 8th – Invasive Plant Removal, Clingman Park: Interested in removing invasive plants from your landscape? Join us at Clingman Park to learn how to accurately identify, remove, and prevent invasive plants on your land.

Nov 12th – Growing Fungi, Clingman Park: A special guest from The Shroomery at SA Farm will be sharing knowledge on how to grow your own fungi! Join us for a workshop at Clingman Park to explore the wild world of mushroom cultivation. Guests who register will make and take their own mini shroomery!

Dec 10th – Upcycling Holidays, Clingman Park: Join us for a fun, family-friendly workshop focused on reducing holiday waste! Bring in old mason jars to make festive candle holders, or t-shirts to create jump ropes (for yourself or for charity). Pick up low-waste wrapping materials like newspaper and paper bags, or bring your own to share and swap. Plus, you can drop off nonfunctional Christmas lights for recycling during the session!
